At the Heart of Roofing
National Federation Roofing Contractors

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors Limited

NFRC currently offers three types of membership: trade (for roofing contractors), associate (for manufacturers, merchants and service providers to the roofing industry) and affiliated membership (roofing colleges and training centres).

Please see below for full details of each type along with the list of benefits and advantages it could offer to you.

Trade Membership (for roofing contractors)

NFRC currently has close to 1,000 contractor members, accounting for some 70% of the market by value. NFRC is a vibrant organisation that is leading the industry and ensures that competent roofing contractors are correctly recognised and gain more work.

NFRC operates throughout the UK and has seven regional committees and offices to represent the needs of each region. The regions are: London and Southern Counties, Midlands, Northern Ireland, North West, Scotland, South West and Yorkshire & North Eastern Counties. As well as access to services via our Associate members, NFRC aims to provide a number of additional benefits and services for trade members.

Associate Membership (for manufacturers, merchants, service providers)

NFRC represents all spectrums of the roofing industry and Associate Membership is available to all reputable companies who manufacture, distribute roofing products or provide market services to the roofing industry. Broadly this falls into three groups the manufacturers of roofing products, secondly the merchants who sell roofing products to roofing contractors and building companies and thirdly service providers. There are various service providers but typically we have insurance brokers, health and safety specialists, computer software companies, healthcare etc, basically any service that our member companies require.

Our aim is to provide all our contracting members with companies that we have checked and approved so that there is a choice of products and services.  All Associate members have to abide by the NFRC constitution and rules and code of practice, so all can expect a fair deal whilst working to improve the status of the roofing industry.

Affiliated Membership (for roofing colleges, training centres)

The NFRC Affiliated College Scheme was originally set up as a pilot scheme to support college lecturers with technical information and materials because as the largest roofing association we feel we have a duty to assist any training which can benefit roofing as a trade and where possible our member companies.

The benefits include:

  • Free to download NFRC technical bulletins
  • Free attendance at our Health and Safety and Technical Seminars
  • Free listing on NFRC website
  • Free use of the website to advertise courses (via PR & Marketing)
  • Free copies of ‘all member circulars’ and our Newsletter ‘Update'
  • Free CITB-CS Roof Training Manuals (sourced through NFRC)
  • Free access to restricted areas of the website
  • Free Access to information on recent/future Skills Competitions

In addition to the above, we may also be able to assist Affiliated Colleges in obtaining discounted or free materials from a wide range of Associate Members (i.e. manufacturers and suppliers). Some Associates have of course supported colleges for many years but there are many others who have expressed an interest and would like to contribute.

If your college would like to be considered as an affilated member please contact us.
