Some of you may be aware of a recent batten debate. Members should know that we were not involved or consulted with regards to any reports or comments on graded battens and will only comment where we and all of our Batten Associate Members are fully involved in the process and all parties have entered freely into any independent testing.

NFRC is satisfied that all four of our Batten Associate Members (John Brash, Nordic Forest, SR Timber and Vidawood) who currently produce graded battens to BS5534 have the necessary quality assurance schemes in place, as carried out by credible third party accreditation bodies, and as such their products are deemed as fit for purpose.

NFRC remains committed to ensuring that all Associate Members’ products meet the required standards and will fully investigate any complaints that are brought to our attention.
