Roofing Occupations Level 3 Roof Slating and Tiling SAPS available for September start at CoRE in Hereford

by Pip Applegate | May 09, 2022

The Centre of Roofing Excellence (CoRE) in Hereford has been awarded CITB funding to run the specialist applied-skills programmes (SAP) in Roofing Occupations Level 3 Roof Slating and Tiling.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those wishing to progress their career in roofing as it covers: curved roofs, complex valley detailing, pricing, estimating and sustainability to name but a few.  The new entrant programme will lead to a vocational qualification (NVQ Level 3), and is considered by trade associations and employers as 'sector apprenticeships'. The course is 30 days in duration and will run over 18 months, starting in September 2022. The course is covered by the CITB’s Travel to Train initiative allowing CITB registered companies to claim 80% of accommodation and travel costs.

Participants will undertake the training at CoRE’s state of the art training facility in Hereford, which is also an NFRC Centre of Excellence. Learners will be trained under the supervision of Andy Rowlands, an NFRC and IFD Roof of the Year Winner, SkillBuild Judge and IFD mentor, along with fellow SkillBuild Judges, Bob Coutts and Matt Timby.
