NFRC Membership Overview

NFRC currently offers three types of membership:

  • Trade Member—for roofing contractors
  • Supplier Member—for manufacturers, merchants and service providers to the roofing industry
  • Stakeholder Member—for m who require expert knowledge on UK roofing industry

NFRC also administers the National Heritage Roofing Contractors’ Register which identifies and lists contractors who have the highest levels of knowledge, skill and experience in the historic and vernacular systems of clay tile, slate, stone and shingle roofing in the UK.

The NFRC can help enhance your reputation. We audit all members for quality assurances and have a strict Code of Practice which all members have to adhere to. By joining a network of 1,200 members you can help to amplify our collective voice within construction and influence national policy that affects the roofing sector.

Make the most of your membership

Membership gives you access to government-backed schemes that can improve your margins and further increase your credibility among customers. Discounted application fees to the NFRC Competent Person Scheme allows you to self-certify roof refurbishments as compliant with Building Regulations in England and Wales. Heritage roofing specialists can enhance their credentials further by joining our Heritage Roofing Register, which is endorsed by Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland and Cadw Welsh Historic Monuments.

Use of our logo

Becoming a member is an endorsement from the NFRC. This means you can use our logo on your vehicles, all promotional materials, business stationery, and website.

Advice and support

The NFRC offer free advice and support on a range of issues. This includes advising you of changes in legislation, offering health and safety guidance and giving you access to a library of standards and guidance.

Technical quality

The NFRC is known throughout the sector to be leading the way in terms of technical quality. We have dedicated technical officers, a vast technical library and hold regular seminars to keep abreast of developments.

Business services

Our business services packages give members bespoke advice on business efficiency, finance and insurance as well as legal advice on contract law. This support is designed to reduce overheads, improve client confidence, make processes more streamlined and ultimately to boost your bottom line.

NFRC Trade Member—Branch Membership Offer

One of the many benefits of NFRC Trade Membership is promotion of your company on the NFRC website. With over 290,000 hits on our ‘Find a Contractor’ page per annum, this is a powerful tool to gain new business.

How Much Will it Cost?

Rates are valid for the current membership year ending on 31 January and are reviewed in November for the following year.

The application fee is £300 (inclusive of VAT) and covers the cost of processing your application, please note that this fee is non-refundable. To speed up your application, please have your Credit/Debit Card ready to pay the fee at the end of the application process.

Supplier Membership

for manufacturers, merchants and service providers

NFRC represents all spectrum's of the roofing industry and Supplier membership is available to all reputable companies who manufacture, distribute roofing products or provide market services to the roofing industry.

Our aim is to provide all our contracting members with companies that we have checked and approved so that there is a choice of products and services. All Supplier members have to abide by the NFRC Terms and Conditions of Members and Rules and Code of Practice, so all can expect a fair deal whilst working to improve the status of the roofing industry.

Please be advised that with effect from 1st February 2019, Manufacturers, Merchants or Service Providers wishing to join the NFRC will be subject to a £300+VAT application fee which will be non-refundable. Your annual membership fee will be discussed with you during the application process.

Stakeholder Membership

for m who require expert knowledge on UK roofing industry

The built environment sector is constantly evolving and responding to a wide range of cultural, legislative, environmental, technical, and regulatory changes. Within this arena, the roofing and cladding industry has a key role to play.

NFRC through its influence, knowledge and resources is the place for stakeholders to seek independent guidance and support and to share knowledge, as we collectively address matters such as the Building Safety Act rollout, revised Building Regulations and the Future Homes Standard, and commercial and domestic roof retrofit aligned to Government PAS and ISO requirements. NFRC and its Members are committed to meeting these opportunities through working collaboratively across the supply chain.

To become a NFRC Stakeholder Member and participate in shaping the roofing and cladding industry of the future, you must be in a position to demonstrate your interest in roofing, but not have in-house roofing or cladding installation capabilities.
