CITB’s New Entrant Support Team (NEST)
The team aim to make the process easier for employers and help them understand the different options and support available to them by supporting employers with areas such as:
- Understanding apprenticeship options and identifying suitable pathways for new entrants
- Helping employers navigate the apprenticeship recruitment process
- Connecting employers with appropriate colleges and training providers
- Supporting employers who already have a potential apprentice but are unsure about the next steps
- Helping employers understand the CITB grants and funding that may be available
- Supporting employers with the onboarding and ongoing development of new entrants
- Helping to overcome challenges that may affect the retention of an apprentice or new entrant
- Working with employers and partners to identify opportunities for people looking to start a career in construction
NEST support is not just about getting someone into an apprenticeship, and the team want to help employers throughout the journey and make sure both the employer and the new entrant have the best possible chance of success.
