Common Assessment Standard – Call for feedback

The scheme was introduced to reduce duplication in pre-qualification and enable contractors to demonstrate competence through a single industry standard. However, we are hearing from members that many clients and principal contractors still require specific SSIP or pre-qualification schemes, resulting in businesses having to maintain multiple accreditations to access work. We would welcome feedback on:

• Whether CAS certification is being accepted by your clients?
• Whether you are still required to hold multiple SSIP or PQQ accreditations?
• The annual cost and administrative burden of maintaining these schemes?
• Any examples where CAS has simplified (or failed to simplify) procurement.
