Help Shape England’s First Men’s Health Strategy
Please take a few minutes to respond to the survey here.
Open until 11:59pm on 17 July 2025, the call for evidence is your chance to share your experiences, concerns, and suggestions about the health challenges faced by men and boys across England.
Men in England live, on average, four years fewer than women. They are disproportionately affected by serious health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and mental ill health, including suicide. Men remain less likely to seek help for health concerns, and often face barriers accessing services, whether due to stigma, scheduling, or a lack of awareness. The government aims to tackle these problems through its new Men’s Health Strategy.
This call for evidence is open to anyone aged 16 and over living in England, including:
- Men with lived experience of health challenges
- Family members and carers
- Health and care professionals
- Employers and business leaders
- Academics, charities, and community organisations
If you're an NFRC Member, especially if you’re a male business owner or work with teams of men, your insight could be incredibly valuable, particularly around men’s health in the workplace, mental health, or barriers to accessing care.
The Government is looking for views on:
- What issues the strategy should focus on
- Barriers men face accessing healthcare
- Mental health and suicide prevention
- Healthy behaviours (diet, smoking, alcohol, gambling, etc.)
- Workplace health and support
- How to improve outcomes for conditions like cancer and cardiovascular disease
- How to make healthcare services more accessible and relevant to men
Please take a few minutes to respond to the survey here.
NFRC will be making a written submission as well. Please contact [email protected] if you have any thoughts to share.
