NFRC is pleased to announce that the Scottish Roofing Awards has returned for 2024 and is now accepting nominations across 16 categories which include a wide range of disciplines across pitched and flat roofing, cladding and rainscreen, and multi-discipline projects. You can submit your entry via our dedicated awards platform.

Whilst we receive many incredible submissions each year, we advise that all entrants follow the guidance below to give their project the best chance of standing out to our judges.

Photography

One vital element is to make sure you include clear photos of the project, before, during and after the work—we want to see what you started with and the process, as well as the finished product and photos that show off your excellent workmanship.

You should also be advised to document contractors wearing the correct PPE where possible.

Problems and solutions

If you can, we would also like you to tell us how you navigated challenges, or went the extra mile to make sure you achieved a great result. Allowing our judges to fully understand the complexity of the project and how you overcame setbacks is a great advantage. It is great to see high standards in a finished project but it is equally important to understand how this was achieved.

You should also add details around excellent supply chain management, using the project to help apprentices develop their skills, or even involving the local community are impressive elements that we always want to recognise.

Health and safety

This should not be overlooked when submitting your entry, particularly any supporting images. Our judges want to see you demonstrate best practices in health and safety. If you do not have supporting images, make sure to add as much detail as possible.

Companies with a standout young roofer, apprentice or trainee are encouraged to recommend them for the Young Roofer of the Year Award, gaining them recognition for their hard work, commitment and a great start to their career.

If you are ready to begin your application, do so via our dedicated awards platform.

Final entry date for the 2024 Scottish Awards: Friday 23 August 2024.

The NFRC Scottish Roofing Awards team advise that companies can submit as many entries as they like, but a project must only be submitted into one category, not across multiple. If the roof is multi-disciplined, entrants should focus on the strongest aspect and enter it into the most suitable category.

The 2024 awards are open to projects completed between 1 January 2023 to 31st July 2024.
