HSE Inspections: Dust Kills campaign
Throughout the months of June and July, HSE will continue to target construction workers' lung health with its nationwide inspection campaign focusing on respiratory risks from exposure to dust. The inspections will look at dust control, checking employers and workers are aware of the risks, are planning their work, and are using the right controls. Inspectors will check control measures in place to protect workers inhaling construction dusts including silica and wood dust as well as gaining assurances that materials containing asbestos have been identified and removed or managed to prevent or reduce exposure. The HSE's Dust Kills campaign provides free advice to businesses and workers on the control measures required to prevent exposure to dust.
