NFRC Scotland Delivers Dunbar Roofing Skills Demonstration

Lewis Miller, Company Director at Compass Roofing Ltd, ran an interactive slating stand where members of the public were taught to cut their own slate. Lewis, who helped to lead the pioneering National 5 qualification in creative industries roof slating last year, was supported on the stand by NFRC Scotland Regional Manager John McKinney. Slates for the demonstration were generously donated by SSQ.

Alongside the slate cutting, Stephen Higgins of Edinburgh Leadcraft Ltd showcased lead roofing and some of the artisan creations that can be made with the material.
