Office of National Statistics (ONS)—Construction output in Great Britain: November 2022
Whilst many sectors performed well in November, private housing new work and repair and maintenance pulled down overall output.
ONS (Office for National Statistics) estimated zero growth and zero downturn in output (0.0 per cent) in November 2022. New work fell 0.4 per cent from October. This was offset by an increase of 0.6 per cent in repair, maintenance and improvement work. At a sector level, private housing (both new work and repair, maintenance and improvement) was the major negative contribution. Output by volume remained above pre-pandemic levels, though this was driven by repair and maintenance work (15.5 per cent above February 2020 levels), with new work 3.4 per cent below its February 2020 level.
