State of Roofing Industry Report–Autumn 2025 Available Now

NFRC and Barbour ABI have published the State of Industry Autumn 2025 Report.

Political uncertainty emerged as a growing challenge for roofing businesses across the UK in NFRC’s latest State of the UK Roofing Industry report.

The report, produced for NFRC by Barbour ABI and based on responses from roofing contractors across the UK, finds that many firms feel the Autumn Budget failed to provide the certainty needed for future planning, reinforcing wider concerns about an uncertain policy environment.

Our Members need a stable environment to plan, invest, and grow. They make clear in this report that ongoing political and economic uncertainty is making forward planning more difficult.

Key indicators

Key indicators show that 37% of roofing contractors reported an increase in workload compared to 43% in summer 2025. Concerningly, this is an 11-percentage point decrease on the workload levels seen in Q3 2024 (37% in autumn 2025 vs. 48% in Q3 2024). Alongside a subdued workload, the level of new enquiries remains flat: 34% of contractors reported an increase in the level of new enquiries, similar to levels seen in summer 2025 (32%).

The report has also been refreshed, and we hope you find it interesting and easier to read and digest.
