New committee members for NFRC North Western England and Wales region

NFRC’s North Western England and Wales region has successfully recruited eight new committee members including a Chair to support, enhance and promote the strategic goals of NFRC locally. At a time when the industry is faced with a number of challenges, the new committee bring their experience, empathy, skill sets and knowledge to create a professional, involved and proactive approach to the region with a view to raising the profile of NFRC and encouraging further member engagement.

The new committee members are:

Mike Ward 2022

Mike Ward
(North West Regional Chairman) Director, Comm Commercial Projects

A Quantity Surveyor by trade, Mike has a bias towards cladding and sheeting, although does undertake felt flat roofs too. Mike currently works for a cladding and roofing contractor based in Liverpool, but his past experience includes Healthcare and Civil Engineering, both contractor and client side.

Jennifer Beddard NW Committee 2022

Jennifer Beddard
Director, Beddard Roofing Ltd—a successful family run business

Jennifer works in domestic roofing with her husband, and wants to help improve and raise the standards throughout the industry. Jennifer is looking forward to working with NFRC to promote the benefits of membership, and the work of NFRC and its members to the wider public.

Thomas Carroll NW Committee 2022

Tom Carroll
Director, The Sovini Group

With a career in roofing since he was fifteen years old and having worked within a family business which has since been incorporated into The Sovini Group. Tom’s full circle career history enables him to relate to the issues with both smaller and larger members which is of great advantage to the members within the region.


Melissa Fazackerley
SHEQ Manager, Longworth Building Services—a leading building envelope contractor

Melissa is responsible for reviewing and advising on policy, procedures and new initiatives for safety, health, environment and quality on all Longworth sites. Additionally, throughout the business, Melissa brings her knowledge and experience to training, strategic planning and essential works on risk management.

Caroline Haslam NW Committee 2022 Sepia

Caroline Haslam
Head of QSHE at FK Group Ltd—a leading full building envelope provider

FK Group specialise in roofing, cladding, glazing and maintenance across many sectors with a focus on innovation, applying new thinking, exploring and refining ideas. Caroline’s areas of expertise are Occupational Health and Safety with a particular interest in the health of the workforce.

Director, Flintshire Roofing Ltd—a long-established roofing specialist

Since establishing in 1994 Flintshire Roofing has grown to become one of the most experienced and respected roofing companies, covering North Wales, Cheshire, the Wirral and Liverpool.

Phil Medford NW Committee 2022

Phil Medford
Divisional Director, HS Roof Clad—a family owned and run business

HS Roof Clad provides total envelope solutions within industrial and commercial sectors. Phil brings a broad range of experience within the industry and in his current role to help deliver our objectives.

Joanne Stewart NW Committee 2022

Joanne Stewart, Office Manager
Spar Roofing on the Wirral in Merseyside

Spar Roofing is a family-run business, founded in 1978 by Joanne’s father, David Stewart. Joanne has taken over the running of the business and wants to share her knowledge and experience with other Members, along with helping to improve and develop the region on many levels.

There are some new working methods that are being introduced into the region and the new committee members are contributing with ideas and fully supportive to the positive changes required. The respect and enthusiasm shown towards NFRC by the new committee will help us to reshape and improve on all levels.
