Scottish Roofing Awards categories

The competition award categories cover the full spectrum of roofing disciplines, and an individual category for the Ronnie Forsyth Young Roofer of the Year award.

Bituminous Hot Applied Liquid Waterproofing

This category is for any hot melt applied bituminous waterproofing systems whether on a roof over a habitable space or on a podium deck.

Cold Applied Liquid Waterproofing

This category is for any cold applied waterproofing systems either in a single or double layer application whether on a roof over a habitable space or on a podium deck.

Fully Supported Metal

This category is for any traditional fully supported metal that has a locked standing seam (or variation thereof) jointing method.

Green Roofing

This category is for projects where there is a Green Extensive/Intensive roof covering or Biodiverse (either green or brown) roof covering over the main part of the roof surface.

Heritage Roofing

This category is for projects where existing and/ or reclaimed roof coverings have been used and are in line with the NFRC National Heritage Roof Types.

Projects where the lead waterproofing whether that be on a flat roof, dome or cupola forms the main part of the roof waterproofing or where the lead showcases the benefits of the product whether that be in application or aesthetics.

Mastic asphalt

This category is for projects where the mastic asphalt has been applied to roofs, balconies, podiums or car parks.

Multi-discipline projects over £250k

This category is for any large project that utilises more than two different waterproofing products. These could be different roofing systems or roof and wall systems.

Rainscreen Façades

This category is for any ventilated or non-ventilated façade system installed on either a wall or soffit. Ideally fixed back to the structure on an adjustable carrier system.

Reinforced Bitumen Membranes

This category is for all the RBM waterproofing systems no matter their attachment and preferably showing good use of the NFRC Safe2Torch guidance.

Roof Slating

This category is suitable for all natural slates and man-made double-lap slates.

Roof Tiling

This category is suitable for all roof tiles and single-lap slates.

Sheeting & Cladding

This category is for any project that utilises a composite panel or twin skin system either on a roof or wall.

Single Ply Roofing

This category is for any single layer waterproofing system.

Solar

This category is for projects where rooftop solar PV has been Incorporated into the design of the full roof system, considering the roof structure and roof covering suitability. The installation of full roof system and PV elements to be managed by the roofing contractor.

Individual and group bookings are available. Whether you've entered or not, the Scottish Roofing Awards are a fantastic event and hugely popular amongst our members. We welcomed over 250 to the awards in 2024 and anticipate a similar turnout this year. Please book your tickets in advance to avoid missing out.
