This category is for any cold applied waterproofing systems either in a single or double layer application whether on a roof over a habitable space or on a balcony/terrace.

This category is for any traditional fully supported metal that has a locked standing seam (or variation thereof) jointing method.

This category is for projects where there is a Green Extensive/Intensive roof covering or Biodiverse (either green or brown) roof covering over the main part of the roof surface.

This category is for projects where existing and/ or reclaimed roof coverings have been used and are in line with the NFRC National Heritage Roof Types.

The Individual Health and Safety Award will be awarded to someone who has gone above and beyond their normal duties to ensure the health and safety of those around them.

Projects where the lead waterproofing whether that be on a flat roof, dome or cupola forms the main part of the roof waterproofing or where the lead showcases the benefits of the product whether that be in application or aesthetics.

This Category is to award a local hero - where a roofer or roofing company that is an unsung hero is recognised for their charitable work.
The Local Hero award is run in partnership with SIG Roofing and nominations should be made though the SIG website.

 

This category is for projects where the mastic asphalt has been applied to roofs, balconies, podiums or car parks.

This category is for any large project that utilises at least two different roofing technologies or façade products. These could be different roofing systems or roof and wall systems. 

This category is for any ventilated or non-ventilated façade system installed on either a wall or soffit. Ideally fixed back to the structure on an adjustable carrier system.

This category is for all the RBM waterproofing systems no matter their attachment and preferably showing good use of the NFRC Safe2Torch guidance.

This category is suitable for all natural slates and man-made double-lap slates.

This category is suitable for all roof tiles and single-lap slates.

This category is for any project that utilises a composite panel or site assembled system either on a roof or wall.

This category is for any single ply roof system no matter their attachment.

This category is for projects where rooftop solar PV has been incorporated into the design of the full roof system, considering the roof structure and roof covering suitability. The installation of full roof system and PV elements to be managed by the roofing contractor.

This category is for individual projects where the roof or wall systems cost under £25k. There is no requirement for the type of systems that are utilised in this category.

 

The winner of this award is selected by the Judging panel with the project chosen from the 2025 winners. Entries for this award will not be accepted.

The Young Roofer of the Year award, will be awarded to a roofer or apprentice in recognition of their hard work, approach, ability, skills and contribution to the roofing sector. Nominations can be made by anyone to recognise an apprentice, a qualified roofer with no more than three years’ experience or a roofing student and not more than twenty five years old by 31 December 2025.
