Government Publishes Digital Infrastructure Pipeline’s First Instalment

Check for works in your region with the new interactive website, part of Government's ten-year infrastructure pipeline.

The Government has published the first instalment of its ten-year infrastructure pipeline on a new interactive website. Backed by the UK Infrastructure: A 10 Year Strategy, the Pipeline sets out £725 billion in planned public funding over the next decade, with private investment playing a vital role alongside this.

The Pipeline currently details around 780 projects and programmes, representing £530 billion of investment, including £285 billion in public funding. It covers projects in construction, under development, or in early planning stages, with data sourced from 40 public and private organisations. It includes capital and maintenance works with values over £25 million for economic infrastructure (transport, energy, utilities) and over £15 million for social infrastructure (health, education, justice, etc.).

The Infrastructure Pipeline is a valuable source of forward market insight. It offers a clear view of upcoming demand, enabling roofing contractors to prepare and invest in skills, capacity, and innovation. This is especially relevant for those operating in sectors such as health and social care (17% of planned investment), transport (14%), and education.

The pipeline is interactive and it will initially be updated every six months. Future updates will expand on workforce and skills needs, hopefully offering better intelligence on upcoming work opportunities and staffing demands.

To explore the Pipeline, visit the UK Government’s official infrastructure planning portal here and keep an eye out for future updates in early 2026.
