L&SC Region Proudly Supporting Skills Celebrations
These events reinforce our commitment to encouraging more young people into roofing and recognising the achievements of those developing their careers through apprenticeships.
The region will support the Brighton & Hove Skills and Employment Celebration and the East Sussex Apprenticeship Graduation, helping to raise the profile of roofing as a rewarding career and celebrate the individuals and employers investing in the next generation of skilled workers.
Taking place on 3 March 2027 at Brighton's Jubilee Library, the Brighton & Hove Skills and Employment Celebration will bring together learners, employers, training providers and local organisations to recognise outstanding achievements in education, training and employment.
Organised by Brighton & Hove City Council and the Sussex Council of Training Providers, the event will celebrate a range of career pathways, including apprenticeships, skills bootcamps and pre-employment programmes. Award categories include Apprentice of the Year and Apprenticeship Employer of the Year.
Also taking place in March, the East Sussex Apprenticeship Graduation will be held at the Winter Garden in Eastbourne, bringing together more than 200 guests to recognise the dedication, determination and achievements of apprentices across a range of industries, including construction.
The event, organised by East Sussex County Council and the Sussex Council of Training Providers, will recognise exceptional individuals, employers and training professionals, with awards celebrating career progression, workplace contribution and achievement.
NFRC is committed to supporting the development of a skilled and competent roofing workforce. By sponsoring these events, the L&SC region aims to strengthen links between industry, education and training providers, while highlighting the opportunities available to young people considering a career in roofing.
From practical roofing skills to technical, supervisory and management roles, the industry offers a wide range of opportunities for individuals to develop and progress.
L&SC members are encouraged to get involved by considering their apprentices and young workers for relevant award categories. These events provide an opportunity to recognise their hard work, celebrate their achievements and showcase the investment roofing businesses are making in developing future talent.
