Promoting Roofing Careers across North West

NFRC had the honour of supporting IH Gallagher Roofing Ltd at Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College’s careers fair in Altrincham.

Alongside Ruth and Finn, a recent apprentice graduate, we had the opportunity to speak with pupils from Year 7 right through to Year 13, sharing insight into the roofing industry and why it can be such a rewarding and diverse career path.

Pupils were engaged and curious, asking questions, and eager to find out more about skills, earning while learning, and long term progression and business opportunities.

We also spent time explaining apprenticeships, helping students understand how they can gain practical experience, achieve recognised qualifications, and build a career without the need for a traditional university route.

The positive feedback received throughout the day was encouraging, with a handful of students considering a roofing apprenticeship.

A special mention to Finn, who represented the industry brilliantly. His maturity, confidence and ability to connect with pupils at their level really stood out, he is a great example of what apprenticeships can achieve.

Speaking on the event, Regional Manager Jason Munro said,

"It is important to recognise the continued efforts of IH Gallagher Roofing Ltd in building strong relationships with schools and engaging with young people as representatives of the roofing industry.

"Ongoing liaison and partnerships like this are vital for raising awareness, inspiring the next generation, and ensuring our sector continues to grow with fresh talent."
