This is a key part of our commitment to professionalising the industry, which is why you can download electronic copies of sixteen BSI roofing standards, completely free of charge, including BS 6229, BS 8000, and BS 5534.

This is alongside the library of over 120 technical guidance notes published by NFRC.

Discounted application fees to the NFRC Competent Person Scheme allows you to self-certify roof refurbishments as compliant with Building Regulations in England and Wales.

Heritage roofing specialists can enhance their credentials further by joining our Heritage Roofing Register, which is endorsed by Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland and Cadw Welsh Historic Monuments.

In addition, NFRC Members automatically meet the qualification criteria to become a TrustMark member, thanks to the thorough NFRC inspection process.

 

Members are regularly invited to share their views anonymously through NFRC’s State of the Industry Survey. The results feed into four State of the Industry Reports published each year, with exclusive Members-only editions that offer valuable benchmarking to help you compare your business with others across your region and the wider UK. 

These reports are used to shape NFRC’s policy work and strengthen your voice with government. By turning Member evidence into clear strategies, we drive conversations on issues that matter most to you, from retentions and late payments to the ongoing skills crisis.  

Our policy team is here to make sure your challenges are heard. If you would like support in raising an issue with your local MP, we can draft correspondence on your behalf and accompany you to meetings.  

We are also looking for Members willing to act as spokespeople for the sector, whether that’s speaking to the media, contributing to committee inquiries, or hosting politicians on site visits.
