Key information

For young people:

Looking to upskill or start a new career? Working in construction already and wanting a change, or totally new to it? Then why not think about roofing and cladding—a high demand area currently in the local construction market.

As Northern Ireland’s leading training and employment organisation, People 1st is offering a fully funded two year apprenticeship for new or existing employees within the construction industry, who want to learn this skilled trade. With this qualification you will gain not only practical skills needed to carry out this role, but also acquire knowledge of health, safety and environmental issues that come with working on a site, along with undertaking essential skills training in maths, English and IT.

So if you are aged under 25, already in employment or ready to start immediately and available to work a minimum of 21 hours a week with your apprenticeship and attend training one day per week at our state of the art training facility at CITB, Nutts Corner then please get in touch with us today.

For employers:

Are you short-staffed and wanting a new employee or needing to upskill an existing team member to take on a new role within your business? Then the apprenticeship programme could be the ideal solution!

Here at People 1st, we run the highly successful ApprenticeshipsNI qualification in roofing and cladding for construction, and we are currently looking for employers who have an immediate need in this area, to start either a new employee or upskill an existing one. These apprentices will be in paid employment from day one and benefit from your ‘on the job’ training, spending the majority of their contracted time with you (21 hrs minimum), and will attend fully funded training in this area at our specialist training facility at CITB, Nutts Corner, 1 day per week.

Many local NI businesses have successfully employed and trained their apprentices through this programme, and in the current market it is great for staff retention as the programme runs for two years minimum. At People 1st, we are highly experienced in the delivery of this training and are here to help employers, so if you are ready to find an apprentice to fill the gap in your business for roofing and cladding, or want to retrain someone in this new role, then please contact our team today to find out more.
