For young people:
If you are thinking of a career in the Roofing Industry then a Simian Apprenticeship is a great place to start. Take your first step on the Ladder with Simian. Our fantastic training facilities have modern equipment and rigs that you will need to grow and improve your skills.
Our knowledgeable and friendly teaching staff have extensive experience in the roofing and education sectors.
You will spend one week in five in our centres improving the skills that you are picking up on site over the 18 – 24 months that you are on the course.
We currently offer the Roof Slating and Tiling Pathway and also Waterproof Membranes Installer.
At the end of the Roof Slating and Tiling Membrane, you should be competent in the installation of Interlocking Tiles, Plain Tiles, Regular Sized Natural Roof Slates and all affiliated backgrounds and components associated with each of the disciplines. You will also be able to complete basic lead activities such as soakers, flashings, valleys and much more.
Candidates that complete the waterproof membrane installer course will be competent in Single Ply systems, RBM and Liquid roof installations. They will be able to install each discipline to varying details, terminations and penetrations.

Simian are a well established training provider who are a registered to deliver apprenticeships. We believe in investing in the future of the sectors that we deliver training for and as a company, we are passionate about doing our part to involve the skills shortages within the roofing and scaffolding sectors.
We have recently invested in our training centres to ensure that our learners are receiving the best training that they possibly can. We are keen to show these centres off whenever we can so even if you do not have an apprentice yet, come and see what we do!
Our robust recruitment policies mean that we only use the best trainers with extensive experience in the roofing industry.
We have relationships with multiple manufacturers and suppliers ensuring that apprentices install and receive CPDs for a wide range of products during their time on our courses.

Provision: What and where?
We are currently accepting bookings for Apprenticeships in both Pathways for our centre in London and also our centre in the Warrington area (NW England).
The travel to train budget now means that employers receive 80 per cent of any travel costs or accommodation back. This has allowed us to train apprentices from all over the country.
