For young people:

If you are thinking of a career in the Roofing Industry than the South West Roofing Training Group is a great place to start. We have purpose built roofing training centres with industry qualified knowledgeable trainers on hand to help and guide you every step of the way.

You will spend three days per month for 16 months in one of our centres enhancing the skills that you have gained on site while working with your employer.

We currently offer the Roof Slating Apprenticeship which will ensure you are competent in the installation of Interlocking Tiles, Plain Tiles, Regular Sized Natural Roof Slates and all affiliated backgrounds and components associated with each of the disciplines. You will also be able to complete basic lead activities such as soakers, flashings, valleys and much more.

For employers:

Are you located in the South West?  Become a member of our Group and benefit from our help and support regarding all aspects of your training.  We have our own dedicated trainers for the RST Apprenticeship, lead welding and bossing, NVQs and UKATA asbestos and can also provide discounted rates with established providers for the remainder of your training.  We will also help and guide you through the CITB Skills and Training fund.

Provision: What and where?

We are currently accepting bookings for The Roof Slating and Tiling Apprenticeship in Exeter and Melksham.

If you are a CITB member, there are other grants you can claim to help cover cost, including the travel to train budget—employers receive 80 per cent of any travel costs or accommodation back.
