The NFRC Charitable Trust was established in 1974 to support the UK roofing community. By offering financial help and practical support, the Trust aims to make a positive difference to the lives of those working, or who have worked, in the roofing sector, and their families.

Peter Rogerson OBE, Chair of the NFRC Charitable Trust, said “Like any charity, the trust must keep up to date with challenges faced by those working in the roofing and cladding sector and ensure the support available remains relevant and timely”. With that in mind, the trust has launched a survey to understand the charitable focus that is most needed now to make a positive difference to people working, or who have worked, in the roofing and cladding sector.

The NFRC Charitable Trust survey is open to anyone involved in the roofing and cladding industry and can be completed at https://bit.ly/NFRC_CT25  The survey closes at 5pm on 30 June 2025.

To date, the trust has focused its work on hardship support (working in partnership with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity), environmental impact, education and upskilling. Hardship support funding through Lighthouse is helping members of the roofing community with counselling, food costs and utility bills at this difficult time. The trustees hope to hear from people working throughout the roofing and cladding industry about the charitable areas that they feel are most important to focus on in the current environment.

The survey also highlights the opportunity to join the charity as a trustee, a voluntary role to help support and guide the NFRC Charitable Trust’s strategic direction and activities. The charity is particularly looking to recruit trustees with personal experience of working within the roofing and/or cladding community, and experience of training and recruitment in the sector.
