CLC Launches Consultation on CO₂nstruct Zero Review

Through this consultation, the CLC is seeking industry feedback to ensure that the programme continues to reflect current challenges and opportunities, and that the data collected provides a meaningful picture of real-world progress towards decarbonisation.

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has opened a consultation to review CO₂nstruct Zero, the industry’s collective programme to drive carbon reduction and support the UK’s journey to Net Zero.

The review aims to ensure that the initiative’s nine priorities and the metrics used to measure progress remain closely aligned with the UK’s Seventh Carbon Budget, which sets out the Government’s legally binding targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions between 2033 and 2037.

Since its launch in 2021, CO₂nstruct Zero has provided a unifying framework for the construction sector’s response to climate change — bringing together businesses, trade associations, and government to track progress and share best practice on areas such as low-carbon materials, energy efficiency, transport, and construction methods.

Members are encouraged to submit their views using the consultation form by the deadline of Monday 17 November.

Your input will help shape the next phase of the UK construction industry’s Net Zero strategy, ensuring that CO₂nstruct Zero continues to deliver measurable impact and leadership across the built environment.
