Registration for Open Doors Officially Open–Get Involved!

Following huge success in 2025, NFRC is encouraging members to host events to inspire the next generation of talent.

The countdown to #OpenDoors26 is officially underway, and registration is now open for organisations across the construction supply chain to list their events taking place from Monday 23 to Saturday 28 March 2026.

You can join a great line up of Open Doors Partners who have already set the stage with an exciting line-up of sites and experiences, including:

  • Canary Wharf Group’s Wood Wharf development in London,

  • Sunbelt Rentals’ Chadderton Service Centre near Oldham,

  • CITB’s National Construction College Scotland, and

  • Willmott Dixon’s Glyncoch Primary School in Wales.

From live construction sites and offices to manufacturing facilities and training centres, every organisation can play a part in inspiring the next generation by opening their doors to showcase the wide range of careers our industry has to offer.

Building the Future Workforce

With the construction sector needing to recruit around 50,000 new workers each year, Open Doors, delivered by Build UK, provides a unique opportunity for young people, career changers, and job seekers to go behind the scenes and see construction in action.

Following the success of Open Doors 2025, which featured more than 260 events and welcomed a record 7,000 visitors, the programme continues to demonstrate its impact with 88% of attendees saying they were more likely to consider a career in construction after their visit.

To build on this momentum, Build UK is working closely with its network of partners to promote events nationwide, and NFRC encourages members to get involved.

Register Your Events Early

Schools and colleges often require advance notice to arrange visits, so early registration is essential.

To help hosts prepare, Build UK has produced a Visit Brief and Risk Assessment template to assist with permissions and planning.

Your October Action Plan for #TeamFullyBooked

Following last year’s record-breaking participation, the goal for 2026 is to ensure even more events are part of #TeamFullyBooked. To help organisers get ready, here’s your action checklist:

  1. Register new events for 2026 using the updated Website User Guide, which provides a step-by-step walkthrough.

  2. Update any 2025 events that will run again next year – unactivated events will be removed on Monday 3 November.

  3. Download booking information from 2025 if you need it, as all previous bookings will also be deleted on 3 November.

  4. Start promoting your events to local schools and colleges using the Invitation Template.

  5. Plan for early enquiries from schools and colleges before January when official booking opens.

Together, we can make #OpenDoors26 the most successful yet by inspiring thousands more people to explore a career in construction and join the future of our industry.
