On Thursday 20 November, Langley Waterproofing, which was awarded CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) status in September, launched the Waterproof Membrane Installer course at the Technical Engineering and Construction Centre (TECC) in Leyton.

Over 18-24 months, apprentices will learn how to interpret drawings, measure and calculate materials and how to install vapour control layers for RBM, Liquid and Single Ply roofing systems.

The NFRC has supported the development of this new training standard for apprentices entering the flat roofing industry, and fully supports the commitment shown by Langley. Apprentices that complete the Waterproof Membrane Installer course will leave college with a more rounded knowledge which will benefit those employers who have invested in apprenticeships.
