Whether it be the need to improve the quality and safety of our buildings or attracting a new generation of workers with new skills, roofing is facing some fundamental challenges and is under more public scrutiny than ever before. Despite the great work that many roofing contractors deliver day in and day out, there are many more unskilled and inexperienced people that can simply set themselves up in business, ruining everyone else’s reputation in the process.
Accreditation will solve this reputational issue and more. Not only will it certify to the wider world that a contractor has the competency to carry our work, but the path towards formal accreditation will naturally improve skills and provide a clearer career path. It will help to professionalise roofing. RoofCert is the four-year programme that the NFRC is managing in partnership with the CITB to develop an accreditation programme.
Come to the meeting in the Mercure Haydock Hotel, Penny Lane Saint Helens WA11 9SG 1.30pm on the 28th June 2018 to hear Jon Vanstone talk about the RoofCert programme, why industry needs it, how it is being developed and what it means for you.
